The art showcased here is all art that was directly retrieved from the garbage. Most of it comes from art schools, picked up after the janitorial staff has removed it from lockers or storage spaces at the end of a school session, after the students have taken what they wanted. Much of it was taken out of large garbage bags where it had been placed for pick up by the garbage trucks.
